Local Action
Oxford Hub co-ordinates a wide range of community volunteering projects for students in the city. Uniquely, all our projects are student-led so there are opportunities not just to volunteer but also to shape the way the projects develop, allowing you to build community projects that produce real social change in the local community.

We have a whole range of projects, from getting involved in local schools, to working with the elderly to planting and harvesting a community allotment. Varying levels of time commitment are also available depending on your interests. So whether you just want to burst the Oxford bubble by reading with children in a local school once a week, or whether you're up for the challenge of leading a project to address a pressing local need, then there's something for you.
As a community volunteer you will become part of a network of over 500 Oxford University students involved in creating positive social change in the local community. Oxford Hub also provides ongoing support and high-quality training sessions to help you develop personally and professionally during your time as a volunteer. There are also opportunities to benefit from Oxford Hub's network and events programme, including debates, conferences and skills sessions on social issues locally, nationally and internationally.
