The Vice-Chancellor's Civic Awards are granted every year to students who show exceptional achievement in and commitment to creating positive social change. The Awards celebrate and recognise the efforts made by students to have a positive impact in their local and global community. Previous Awardees have been recognised for volunteering in the local community, raising funds for charity, campaigning, and carrying out research on social and environmental issues. Click here to find out more about the 2011 Awardees.
The Awards are given only to students currently matriculated at the University of Oxford. It does not matter what degree level, year or subject you are studying for, we are looking for any students who have demonstrated leadership, commitment, passion and proven social impact.
There are two routes through which the Vice-Chancellors Civc Awards are given.
1. If you know or work with a student you feel could be recognised by the Vice-Chancellor's Civic Awards, you can make a nomination. Your nominated student must then complete an application.
2. Students currently engaged in activities they feel could be recognised by the Vice Chancellor's Civic Awards can make an application.
After the deadline, applicants are shortlisted before a panel chooses the final Awardees. The Vice-Chancellor's Civic Awards panel is made up of representatives from the University and local community.
Applications for the 2012 awards are now closed. Check back here soon for details of the winners or check out last years winners here.
