Full Job Description: Oxford Hub Manager
The Oxford Hub Manager has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the Oxford Hub. You’ll need to have exceptional organisational skills so that all the innovating, inspiring, motivating and empowering can happen with no obstacles. You’ll have a huge capacity to learn, to challenge, to take on responsibility and to transform the charitable scene in Oxford.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a leadership role in the voluntary sector. Proven experience and knowledge of the sector are desirable, but willingness to learn is the key quality we are looking for. Things move pretty quickly so a healthy appetite for change and a good work ethic are a must.
The Manager will be responsible for the general management and day-to-day running of the Hub, including: budgeting, supervision of members of staff, developing relationships with important external stakeholders such as the University and the City Council, working with the student executive committee to deliver the charity’s activities, and developing a sustainable funding stream. The Manager will need to be able to work flexi-time, doing longer hours in term-time, and less in the vacation periods.
Full Job Description: Oxford Hub Outreach Officer
The Outreach Officer’s job is to inspire students to get involved with the Hub’s work, connect them to worthwhile opportunities and help inform them about the issues that matter. Among other things, you will work with the student teams who run the Oxford Hub Series, the Oxford Forum for International Development, our publicity campaigns and our socials and networking events. You’ll also be the first port of call for all students who want to get involved with one of the Hub’s member groups, helping match them with opportunities that best suit their interests.
The opportunities to meet interesting and influential people in this job are huge. In fact, it would be fair to say there are few other roles in which you’d have the chance to meet the CEO of a large charity one morning, brainstorm new project ideas with a local community organisation in the afternoon and the next day be running training for the student committee.
Full Job Description: Oxford Hub Projects Officer
The Projects Officer supports all the groups in the Oxford Hub network and working with the student committee to incubate new projects that students want to get off the ground. This role is being expanded next year to make it responsible for all student-led projects, not just those working in the local community. So one morning you could be supporting an international development charity, the next our Youth Drop-in team. You’ll have huge capacity to learn, to challenge, to take on responsibility and to tell us what you think.
This is a great opportunity to get experience in a fast-growing charity where you’ll be given the space to try your own ideas, be at the forefront of our engagement with partner organisations, have real responsibility for a significant budget and see lots of great work come to fruition in a short space of time.
