The creation of the Unicef Society Oxford is part of the UNICEF OnCampus initiative launched by UNICEF UK in 2005. As part of this initiative, a network of over 50 student societies have been set up all over the UK, each with the primary aim of raising awareness for UNICEF’s work and campaigns. Although primarily charged with raising awareness, the society also looks to raise funds, given that UNICEF exists only through monetary donations. Moreover, our activities are not restricted to the scope of Oxford University, we have representatives at Oxford Brookes University and we have established links with local schools.
